INTRODUCTION TO OPENING SEQUENCES

In the following 7 blog posts I will be looking at 5 different opening sequences of movies from a variety of genres. I will be comparing the similarities and differences within these opening sequences in order to understand the appropriate conventions to be included in the making of my opening sequence.

I wanted to look at films from different genres to see if the conventions were similar regardless of the genre the film belongs to.
I will be looking at the opening sequences from the following films :
'Get Out' (Horror)
'The Notebook' (Melodrama)
'Wild Child'(Romantic comedy)
'Avatar' (Science fiction)
'Bend it Like Beckham' (teen sporting drama)
