MY CHOSEN GENRE

For my foundation portfolio I will be producing the opening sequence, credits and title credits for an original movie from a genre of my choice. I have decided for my opening sequence to belong to the genre of Romantic Comedy. I have chosen this genre due to the typical conventions including :

• light-hearted humour
• entered around the idea of love and obstacles of love
• indications that the two main protagonists were meant for each other through possibly, making each other laugh, having similar interests, bumping into each other etc...

THE PLOT

• There is usually a typical 'boy meets girl scenario', this involving the two main protagonists
• The film is commonly set in a place the audience can relate to, such as every day life
• Commonly the audience identifies with the female main protagonists emotions towards the male main protagonist. This being due to the fact the target audience of 'Rom-coms' are mainly female

This is some initial research into the Romantic Comedy genre, I will be widening my research into this genre
